His dream is to tell his story to the world through his stage plays in hopes of inspiring someone to trust God and step out on faith for with Christ, all things are possible. How It All Began… Alvin started playing piano and drums in church at the age of 12. Since then, he has developed his music skills to include playing bass guitar, trombone, and organ, and at the age of 13, he started producing his own music. Alvin’s interest in the arts was sparked during his teenage years, and it was in 2004 that he wrote his first play entitled Be Yourself. Shocked by the tremendous turnout and recognition that his play received, Alvin decided to engage in the arts even more, but he was determined not to leave God out of the picture. In the summer of 2005, Alvin founded The Arts For Christ (T.A.F.C.) Ministries and began writing and producing stage plays through the ministry. It was also in 2005, at age 19, that Alvin was inspired by an array of circumstances surrounding his parents. These circumstances, along with God’s intervention, motivated, encouraged and led him to write his second and most well-known play, A Mother’s Prayer. The following year, he introduced A Mother’s Prayer to Tennessee State University, and it debuted in the historic T.E. Poag Auditorium. Since then, this phenomenal stage play has been toured and performed in various cities across the US. In May 2007, Alvin graduated from Tennessee State University with honors and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication and Theatre. A few months later, he released his third stage play, When The Lights Go Out, which was also a hit. With his career in theatre quickly soaring to new heights, Alvin branched off into the business arena as he launched the beginning of Alvin Moore Entertainment, his production company, which has proven itself as a successful, competitive force in the entertainment/business market. In 2009, he earned a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Theatre and Speech Education from Lipscomb University. In 2010, he toured his latest hit stage play, The Hell She Wrote, which captivated audiences all over the US. His latest stage play, The Perfect Gift, was recently for DVD and is expected to hit stores in Fall/2011. Regardless of all of his accomplishments, Alvin realizes and acknowledges that it is God who blesses him and maximizes his potential. He is thankful for God allowing him to use his gifts and talents to help others through his ministries, plays, and day-to-day living. Alvin is a native of Moss Point, Mississippi although he is located in Nashville, TN. He is the proud son of Mr. Alvin Moore, Sr. and the late Mrs. Clareser Moore and is the youngest of six children. His means of inspiration for achieving his life goals through ministering is strongly influenced by his father, who is also a minister, and his wife, Shacora. His zeal and passion for helping others derives from his supportive family and his high school mentor, Mr. Otis Carter, III, who helped him obtain a scholarship to further pursue his academic studies and his dreams. |
